Le moulin à vent fut implanté sur le territoire de Saint-Symphorien et, malheureusement, détruit après la dernière guerre mondiale pour faire place à de nouvelles constructions. Ce moulin fut édifié au XVIIIe siècle sur un terrain appartenant à l’Ordre de Malte. D’après d’anciens documents, en 1767, le meunier Vandermal, originaire de Thieusies, a reçu l’autorisation de construire son moulin dans le cadre d’un bail emphytéotique de 99 ans.
The windmill was established on the territory of Saint-Symphorien and unfortunately destroyed after the second World War to make space for new buildings. That mill was built in the eighteenth century on a land belonging to the Order of Malta. According to ancient documents, the miller Vandermal (native of Thieusies) was permitted in 1767 to build his mill as part of emphyteutic lease of 99 years.
De windmolen werd gevestigd op het gebied van Saint-Symphorien en helaas vernietigd na de tweede Wereldoorlog om plaats te maken voor nieuwe gebouwen. Die molen werd opgebouwd in de achttiende eeuw op het terrein behorend tot de Orde van Malta. Volgens oude documenten verkreeg de molenaar Vandermal (afkomstig uit Thieusies) goedkeuring in 1767 voor het bouwen van zijn molen in het kader van een erfpachtcontract van 99 jaren.
In Saint-Symphorien stand einst eine Windmühle, die bedauerlicherweise nach den letzten Weltkrieg einem Bauvorhaben weichen musste. Die Mühle war im 18. Jahrhundert auf einem Gelände errichtet worden, das sich im Besitz des Malteserordens befand. Urkunden aus jener Zeit zufolge erhielt im Jahre 1767 ein aus Thieusies stammender Müller namens Vandermal die Genehmigung zum Bau seiner Mühle im Rahmen eines 99-jährigen Erbpachtvertrags.
